BloodSTAR is an online system used across Australia to manage access to government funded immunoglobulin products. The system manages the authorisation request and review process for the treatment of conditions identified in the Criteria for the clinical use of intravenous immunoglobulin in Australia. Specific medical conditions, eligibility requirements, and a dose calculator can all be found within the criteria.

Accessing BloodSTAR
Access to BloodSTAR is only available through the BloodPortal. To register an individual account, follow the process outlined in the instructions and tip sheets available below.
Existing users logging into the BloodPortal can select the BloodSTAR tile to access the live system. To access the BloodSTAR training site to practice, click on the Training tile displayed at the bottom of the BloodPortal screen, and then click on the BloodSTAR training tile.
Facilities that are not yet using BloodSTAR must contact BloodSTAR support to undertake the facility registration process. More information on facility registration is available in the support materials, and BloodSTAR support contact details are listed in the ‘Further Information’ below.
