Blood Operations Centre (BOC)

Staffed by NBA officers from the Information Technology Services (ITS) team, the Blood Operations Centre (BOC) provides support to the users of Blood Sector Systems (BSS), and proactively monitors the operations of the systems to support the ready identification and resolution of issues.

In addition to monitoring systems and supporting users, the BOC team also provides a single point of contact for staff from health providers who are contacting the NBA, and would operate as the Incident Room if the National Blood Supply Contingency Plan (NBSCP) is activated.

BOC is staffed to provide support from 0800 to 1745 (AEST/AEDT) on weekdays, through the support phone line and email address. Outside of these business hours, urgent support is available through on-call officers. At any time, non-urgent enquiries can be sent to the support email for action – emails received after hours will receive a response the following business day. To ensure that we provide a seamless service to health providers, our business continuity arrangements enable BOC to operate when our normal office is unavailable for any reason.
