NICE 2017 Meeting in Brisbane
NICE 2017 will be held in Brisbane at the Watermark Hotel Brisbane over 13-15 October.
NICE has been held annually for the last 33 years and is a scientific meeting where Immunohaematology scientists meet and share information, experiences and opinions.
All attendees must present a five minute scientific talk. All attendees participate and are involved in the sharing of interesting and practical information. The presentations are topical and do not ramble on for hours! If a speaker has information of particular interest to you in their presentation, then ample opportunity exists to catch up over coffee or a meal to discuss the issues in detail.
The NICE Meeting is short, sharp and economical.
- Friday begins with an informal social gathering followed by a buffet dinner. There is no formal scientific component on Friday.
- Saturday is a full day of scientific presentations followed by a dinner.
- Sunday features another ½ day of presentations and NICE concludes on Sunday after lunch.
The cost to attend the NICE 2017 meeting including 2 nights’ accommodation and all meals is $515 single or $385 pp twin share.
Register by 11 August – act now as places are limited!
The National Blood Authority (NBA) is involved in a number of initiatives to engage with and support health providers on important issues such as minimising wastage of blood and blood products, implementing patient blood management and showcasing best practice in the sector through relevant case studies.
As part of this initiative, the NBA has arranged with the National Immunohaematology Continuing Education (NICE) Organising Committee to host the presentations of NICE participants on the NBA website. The authors of the presentations published on this website have given their permission for their PowerPoint presentations to be saved as PDFs and made available from this NBA page.
It is important to remember that one of the features that make the NICE Weekend Meetings valuable is that every attendee must give a 5 minute presentation and this is used to launch discussion at the meeting. As such, the presentations provide a snapshot of the topic and are not meant to be viewed as an authoritative or complete discussion of the immunohaematological topics presented.
If you have any questions in relation to these presentations, please contact the Health Provider Engagement team of the National Blood Authority on telephone 02 6151 5000 or 13 000 BLOOD (13 000 25663) or email support [at] blood.gov.au
Please note: The NBA is hosting these presentations at the request of the NICE Organising Committee and with the consent of each author to enable wider access to the proceedings of NICE for educational purposes. The NBA does not endorse the content of any of these presentations and does not accept responsibility for copyright.
